Work through the job in four steps

  1. Select with purpose

Use a small type family with enough contrast and avoid very thin strokes over photographs.

  2. Embed fonts

Check the exported PDF reports embedded or appropriately outlined fonts, depending on the workflow.

  3. Check real size

Print a quick office proof at 100% for cards, leaflets and forms. Read phone numbers and legal details.

  4. Watch reversals

Tiny white type on a coloured background can fill in or disappear. Increase size and weight where needed.

Common mistake

A 400% screen zoom can hide a real-world readability problem.

Before you send the file

Check the exact specification with The Print Centre Warrington before final export. Bleed, resolution, colour setup, imposition and finishing allowances depend on the product and production route. Approve the final file and content yourself.
