Choose the right specification
Help readers navigate a longer offer with a sensible page plan, binding and paper choice.
- Saddle stitching suits many shorter booklets; thicker projects may need another binding method.
- Decide whether the cover should feel different from the text pages.
- Plan the page count with the chosen binding in mind before completing the design.
Planning example: a longer programme
For a booklet with schedules or many contributors, create a page map and a content deadline. Leave time after copy approval for pagination, image checks and a final proof. If binding changes, revisit gutters, page count and the cover artwork together.
What to send for a useful quote
Give the closed size, page count including cover, run length, binding, cover/text stock, delivery split and target date.
Supply single pages in reading order unless asked otherwise; check page numbers, crossovers, spine and bleed on all outer edges.
A question we hear
Can you help choose binding?
Yes. Share the page count, size and intended lifespan and the team can discuss practical options.
Plan the file and approval
Before we produce the job, check the final PDF for the exact wording, dates, contact details, size and page or panel order. Confirm any unusual stock, mounting or finishing with the team. A physical sample can be useful where fit, colour or feel matters.
